Day Eight: A Walk in the Park

Today we walked 1.6 miles from the school to Delco Park. The walk there wasn’t too bad with the cool morning breeze. When we got there we met up with an author and an illustrator to complete an activity in which we chose three traits that we believed described ourselves then corresponded a different animal to each trait. We combined those three animals to create what they called a Me-tot. When we finished describing and illustrating our Me-tot we wrote a short poem or narrative about it.

Here is my poem I wrote about the Me-tot:

Walking through the Jungle, I hear a noise

Something pops out of the bushes

It ran away so fast, I could only catch a glimpse

It looked like a dog, with a panda face, and cheetah legs

When I told others about what I saw, they couldn’t believe

I searched everywhere for that creature

But I never saw it again

To be honest, we were at Delco Park for a long time and after a while of sitting there it was a little boring. Then some friends and I walked to the volleyball court where we played for a little bit and relaxed afterwards. It was just really nice to be able to have fun with friends outdoors.
