Day Nine: Kayaking

Фото автора: Jessica SaineJessica Saine

We started today with writing a poem about how to make a river. Here is the poem I made:

To make a river it takes water and plants

A few fish too

Add in some rocks to form the bottom

And we’re almost through

Now take the rain clouds away

If sunlight is few

We then went to the Bellbrook Canoe Rental where we rented some kayaks. They drove to the starting point which was at the Narrows in Beavercreek. We had to kayak 5.2 miles to get back to the Bellbrook Canoe Rental. It seemed shorter than 5 miles but it was still a pretty long journey. After paddling for a while my arms and shoulders would start to hurt, so taking a break from time to time was a must. We got out of our kayaks a few times to swim and take pictures. The best part was the rope swing. It was so relaxing to take a break and just let the water move you. When I stopped to take a break I could hear the sound of the water moving, the way it would flow against the rocks to create a current. This was definitely my favorite day and I can’t wait to go kayaking again.
